"Silent Insanity: Asylums Unraveled"
Oct. 16 – Nov. 15, 2009
Buffalo, NY photo exhibit offers an unseen look into decaying insane asylums, hospitals, and institutions.
See rare images of these forsaken locations which have long been forgotten and presently stand silent and neglected. These buildings are located throughout northeast region, and vary from sprawling complexes to medical buildings and sanitariums. Haunting scenes of what has been left behind – objects, architectural details, and the often chilling memories of the past have once again been brought to life in this special collection of unique images.
The photography exhibit opens October 16 for a month-long run. Silent Insanity is free to the public from October 16 to November 15, 2009 at Artsphere Studio & Gallery located at 447 Amherst Street, Buffalo. An artist reception takes place from 6 – 10 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009.
